Anyone wishes to share his/her experience using this peptide?
Let me share mine.
SS-31 (Elamipretide) is a mitochondria-targeting peptide that binds to cardiolipin to stabilize mitochondrial structure, improve energy (ATP) production, and significantly reduce oxidative stress. Its primary benefits include enhancing physical endurance, reversing age-related muscle decline, and providing neuroprotection in conditions like traumatic brain injury and cognitive deficits. In clinical settings, it has also shown potential in improving kidney function and reducing vascular blockages.
While generally considered well-tolerated, the SS-31 Peptide | Benefits, Safety & Buying Advice [2026] notes that side effects are typically mild and include injection site reactions (erythema, itching, or pain), dizziness, headaches, and occasional gastrointestinal distress. It is currently contraindicated for pregnant or breastfeeding women and individuals with a history of cancer due to its theoretical impact on cell function and a lack of long-term human safety data.
I had Influenza A + B since 4 April. After 2-3 weeks, I started to pin on 26 Apr for 50u. I pinned the same dose next day, and I felt so hot and had hypoglycemia in the afternoon. I reduced the dosage to 10u the next day and developed POTS-like symptoms with anxiety and high heart rate (HR). The next day I pinned 5u and seemed to have low tolerable symptoms but still with high HR. The worst was on Thursday, I pinned 5u and had POTS-like attack in the bus, followed by diarrhea. I stopped pinning.
In conclusion, if you have poor or damaged mitochondrial health, you are not supposed to pin it as the ATP from the cells can be too much for your body. Repair it first or go for TCM. I have Spleen Yang Deficiency and need to address this first prior to using SS-31. In the future I will pin 2-3u first daily which comes up to 0.2-0.3 mg and see how my body reacts.
